Feedback Invited on Draft Consumer Engagement Strategy for Health and Wellbeing

30 July 2023

The Australian Department of Health and Aged Care is seeking stakeholder and community feedback on a new draft consumer engagement strategy for health and wellbeing.

Australia's National Preventive Health Strategy 2021-2030 identified multiple enablers for improving Australians' health and the system for prevention. A priority action of the National Preventive Health Strategy is ensuring a more person-centred prevention system with communities and consumers involved in preventive health policy design and implementation.

Following stakeholder, community and consumer consultation, the Department of Health and Aged Care has published a draft National Consumer Engagement Strategy for Health and Wellbeing

"This Strategy is intended to equip policy-makers and program developers with knowledge, frameworks and skills to engage effectively and purposefully with consumers and communities in the design and development of preventive health policies and programs. This Strategy will also support the engagement of consumers, community groups and consumer and community organisations with policy-makers."

Stakeholder and community feedback on the draft is now being invited. Read the full draft Strategy and follow this link:
